New Years Eve traditions

how do you celebrate New Years Eve in your country and how do you call it?

In Germany New Years Eve is called Silvester.
When there´s nothing left to burn you have to set yourself on fire.

Hey,.....It's 11.19pm here and that means I have less than 50 minutes before the New Year countdown.

How do we celebrate?...mmmmm...it depends....

* some would be partying in a big crowd or with the rest of the nation and hopefully be captured "live" on national tv

* some would be sharing the moment with just their family and love ones

*some would be making out in a back seat of their car and having a countdown of their own...hehehhe!

* some would be in labour and hope that their baby is the first to be born in 2009

* some would be on duty and be on alert to make sure the roads are safe from drunken drivers ...*A salute to the Boys in Blue for working on New Year eve*

*some would be pouting and groaning that school starts in 2 days' time

* some would be sleeping and even forget that its New Year tomorrow (ahem)

* some would be typing on some forum site telling his/her friends from the other side of the planet of how New Year is celebrated in his/her country

Ok, its 11.39 now.....I'm glad that I get to be awake this year unlike the last few years.....hehehe...Now I go watch the countdown on tv.

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!!!!!
