'One Tree Hill,' 'Gossip Girl' taking midseason breaks for 'Life Unexpected'

The good news is The CW won't be airing any reruns on Monday nights from January through May. The bad news is that the two shows that currently air on Mondays will each take extended breaks during that time.

The network will shuffle "Gossip Girl," "One Tree Hill" and the new series "Life Unexpected" in and out of Monday nights throughout the second half of the season. "Gossip Girl" will be on a break for much of January and February, and "One Tree Hill" will take portions of March and April off. "Life Unexpected," meanwhile, will bounce between two timeslots during its 13-episode run.

It starts on Jan. 18. "One Tree Hill" will air in its normal 8 p.m. ET spot, followed by the premiere of "Life Unexpected." That schedule will hold until March 8, when "Unexpected" moves back to 8 and "Gossip Girl" reclaims the 9 o'clock spot.

After "Life Unexpected" finishes its run, "OTH" will then return to conclude its season starting April 19.

I know but you must check out Life UneXpected. I've seen the pilot the CW sent to advertisers and it is going to be GREAT!

hat kind of series is that?

It's about a girl who's been in foster care most of her life and wants to get emancipated, but needs to get the approval of her birth partents first, so she tracks them down. The mother is played by Shiri Appleby, Liz from Roswell, whom I adore. It's really a cute feel-good story. Want to see it?

Yes, GG will air a new episode next week. I'm not sure how many will air after that until they go on break in January though.
